Research Coordinator/Lab Manager Position


New York-based Tech Startup Happify's research division is looking for a BA-level Research Coordinator/Lab Manager to work in the Soho office or remotely. Happify is a large online (web- and smartphone-based) platform with over 3 million registrants. We do research on the large-scale promotion of well-being and resilience in consumer, employer, and health care settings. Job Title: Research Coordinator/Lab Manager


New York, NY

 

Full-time with benefits, could be on-site in Soho office or work remotely. Title negotiable depending on experience. Applicants should only apply if they are seeking a commitment of 2+ years.

 

Qualifications:

·         BA in psychology or related field with interest in experimental/intervention research and using technology for behavior change. Research experience strongly preferred.

·         Experience with data entry and analysis in SPSS (experience working with tools like SPSS-AMOS, R, Mplus, or Matlab a plus but not required).

·         Familiarity with process of submitting IRB protocols and journal articles; must be confident drafting IRB protocols with minimal oversight and communicating with IRBs/journal editors

·         Familiarity with PsycInfo and other search databases- Proficiency with scientific writing and copy editing, including fluency with APA and AMA citation styles.

·         Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to pick up new research-related skills quickly (e.g. using mTurk or SurveyMonkey, interacting with the web-based Happify admin tools).

 

Duties:

1) Handles administrative aspects of research, such as:

·         aids in manuscript preparation and submission (potential to be mentored towards co-authorship in

·         manages mTurk studies and other data collection

·         monitors enrollment and retention in studies, alerting supervisors of problems

·         responds to inquiries from potential and current participants

·         creates and maintains entries in clinicaltrials.gov

·         writes, submits, and revises IRB applications

·         manages workflow for the study, making sure all details are handled

·         handles and tracks participant payment

·          

2) Works directly with Chief Scientist and Chief Data Scientist to provide support to sales and content teams

·         helps perform literature searches in new areas that senior team members need to understand and prepare digestible summaries.

·         keeps track of new research on the science of well-being as it comes out and selects candidates for Happify Daily/Infographic content, to be evaluated by the Chief Scientist + Head of Content
