On Friday, September 19th @ 11:15 am in Simon Hall 001 Women in Science @ IU will be having a General Grad Student Q&A Panel. This will be an opportunity to ask graduate students and professional scientists from Biology/Chemistry/Physics/etc.questions on topics relating to graduate school. 

While the questions will come from you, we expect the topics to include:
-- Advantages/Disadvantages to taking time off after undergraduate and what you can do during that time
-- How to pick an advisor/grad school/program
-- Choosing a PhD vs. Masters
-- Life out side of work
-- General grad school questions - what is it like, what does it entail, etc.

Science Project Mentors Needed at Harmony High School



Harmony high school students seek science project mentors.
Science majors and graduate students are invited to work one-on-one with an aspiring young scientist to design and conduct basic experiments in a topic of their choice.  Spend an hour a week collaborating with a 12th or 11th grader on their research project.
Harmony School is a small, independent school just a few blocks south of IU on East 2nd Street.  Students will be working on their projects on Wednesdays, 10:35 -11:55 AM.  The class also meets Mondays and Tuesdays 9:55-10:35 AM.

CLASSROOM SECRETS FACULTY PANEL!



The FASE Advisory Board presents “Classroom Secrets Untold,” and YOU are invited! This is an event hosted by a panel of IU Professors who will share secrets of classroom success and discuss the expectations they have for their students.  This event will take place on Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 p.m. -7:00 pm in the School of Fine Arts Auditorium Rm. 102.  This is a great opportunity to network with professors and get inside advice and information that will help you succeed at Indiana University. Afterwards, enjoy pizza and refreshments with faculty and students!  Bring your friends, all are welcome!
