The Hurley lab in the Biology Department at Indiana University Bloomington is looking for a full-time lab manager/technician to fill a federally funded position. Duties would center around conducting neuroscience and behavioral experiments addressing the effect of social experience on the mechanisms of social behavior. Lab Manager/Administrator Position Available: Center for Autism Research Excellence (CARE) at Boston University

The Center for Autism Research Excellence (CARE) at Boston University, in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University is seeking a full-time Lab Manager/Administrator, under the supervision of the Center director, Professor Helen Tager-Flusberg. The focus of the research at CARE is on autism, with special emphasis on studies addressing language and communicative functioning in children and adolescents (www.bu.edu/autism).

The position will involve working on all administrative operations for our Center including grants management, IRB, coordinating and overseeing our internship programs, purchasing and upkeep of equipment and supplies, maintenance of website and project management systems, outreach to the community, social media, public relations and dissemination activities, travel arrangements, and other related activities for all the projects and investigators affiliated with the Center. The successful candidate will also support recruitment of participants, coordination of staff and students on the various research projects, data coding and analysis, and help with conference presentations and manuscript preparation.
This position is perfect for someone who has excellent social skills, enthusiasm for the work in our Center, is organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and has the ability to take initiative and manage multiple responsibilities in a proactive way. It is important for the candidate to be able to work independently and as part of a team. A bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience or a related field is required as well as some administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting.  Preferred qualifications include: interest and background working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder; previous research experience on behavioral, language and cognitive neuroscience projects; and strong technical and computer skills.

Research Assistant Job Posting for UGA Clinical Affective Neuroscience Lab

We are looking for a full-time research assistant to join the Clinical Affective Neuroscience Laboratory, directed by Dr. Gregory Strauss at the University of Georgia. The position involves working on an NIMH-funded grant that aims to mathematically model anhedonia in schizophrenia. The start date is as early as July 1, 2017. A minimum 2-year commitment is required for the position.

University of Maryland ADHD Program Seeking an RA With fMRI Experience

The Maryland ADHD Program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park directed by Dr. Andrea Chronis-Tuscano is seeking a full-time research assistant beginning Summer 2017 (specific start date flexible).  In collaboration with researchers at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Center for Neurodevelopment and Imaging Research (CNIR) at Kennedy Krieger Institute, the Maryland ADHD Program has been recommended for funding to investigate reward responsiveness as a putative mechanism of change in an ongoing randomized clinical trial of behavioral activation treatment in college students with ADHD who are engaging in problematic alcohol use.  This exciting project will combine bio-behavioral (i.e., computerized behavioral tasks; multimodal neuroimaging) and treatment outcome research to better understand mechanisms underlying successful treatment for college students with ADHD engaged in problematic alcohol use. This position is contingent upon official funding from the agency.

Research assistant responsibilities include recruiting and scheduling participants for research studies, data collection (MRI and computerized tasks), data processing and analysis (using neuroimaging software such as FSL, SPM, AFNI and matlab), assistance with IRB paperwork and general management of study operations. Key skills for this position include the ability to organize and manage time and multiple tasks, the ability to work independently, experience and proficiency with administering behavioral tasks (e.g., E-prime, Presentation) and neuroimaging software (i.e., SPM, AFNI, etc), and the ability to maintain effective communications and working relationships with other study team members, supervisors and participants. Research assistants will also assist with presentations for scientific conferences and manuscript/grant preparation.
Necessary qualifications include: 1) a BA/BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or related field; 2) research experience collecting, processing or analyzing fMRI data; 3) proficiency with MATLAB; and 4) excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. This position is for one year.

Developmental Neuroimaging Lab Research Assistant Position: Rutgers University

A research assistant position is available in the Psychology Department at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. The Mathematics, Reasoning and Learning Lab (mrlab.rutgers.edu) studies the cognitive neuroscience of mathematics learning, with applications to typical and atypical development, such as mathematical learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. A key feature of our research is combining functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with outside-the-scanner training paradigms.

Responsibilities will include data collection from child and adult research participants in a behavioral and functional brain imaging setting, contacting and scheduling research participants and their families, managing institutional review board (IRB) protocols, and data analysis.

Requirements include spoken and written proficiency in English; a minimum of a bachelor-level degree (e.g., BA or BS), preferably in psychology, mathematics education, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, biology, or a related field; and willingness to make a 2-year commitment. Preference will be given to
applicants who have experience in cognitive neuroscience research with human participants, are proficient with the Linux computing environment, have used presentation software such as E-prime or PsychoPy, and can program in a scripting language such as Matlab or Python. Prior experience with children, including children with learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorders, is desired.

Professional Research Assistant Position, University of Colorado Boulder

The Cognitive Development Center (www.colorado.edu/cognitivedevelopment and www.facebook.com/CognitiveDevelopmentCenter), directed by Yuko Munakata at the University of Colorado Boulder, is seeking a full-time Professional Research Assistant to begin July 2017. The lab studies the development of executive functioning, investigating how children learn to achieve goals by planning ahead, stopping themselves from doing things they shouldn’t do, flexibly switching from one activity to another, and solving problems. The lab also explores social and contextual factors that shape the development of executive function, and implications for intervention.

Responsibilities include:
* Managing an active lab of 15-20 undergraduates, graduates, and postdoctoral researchers
* Assisting and training new lab members on interacting with families, running experiments, coding videotapes, etc.
* Recruiting families and new personnel
* Maintaining and upgrading experimental, computer, and a/v equipment
* Overseeing purchases and participant funds
* Managing lab database and website
* Assisting with preparation of publications and grant proposals
Opportunities to gain research experience in developmental cognitive neuroscience are also available.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

RA Position at Michigan State University

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill 1 open Research Assistant position in the Division of Public Health, College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. These individuals will work on the SPIRIT Trial, a large NIMH- and NIJ-funded research study evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a suicide prevention intervention for 800 suicidal jail detainees who are releasing to communities in 2 states (Michigan and Rhode Island), with PIs at each affiliated academic site (Michigan State University PI: Jennifer Johnson, PhD; Brown University PI: Lauren Weinstock, PhD).

Seats are still available in HPSC X424 Neuropsychological Pathography (#31345) for Fall 2017. This course will count as both a College of Arts and Science A&H course and as an advanced Psychology course. This course will not meet advanced Neuroscience requirements. Recommended pre-requisite: P324 Abnormal Psychology.

This seminar explores personal narratives of mental trauma and psychological distress, and seeks to understand neurological damage and emotional affliction from the perspective of the sufferer as well as the scientist. Attached please find a detailed course description.

Full-Time RA Position in Anxiety Clinical Psychology Lab at Florida State University

The Anxiety and Behavioral Health Clinic (ABHC; https://anxietyclinic.fsu.edu/) at Florida State University (https://psy.fsu.edu/) is seeking a full-time postbaccalaureate research assistant to start in June of 2017. The ABHC is directed by Dr. Brad Schmidt.

The position is ideal for someone who is graduating or has graduated with a degree in psychology or neuroscience, has undergraduate research experience, is reliable, organized, and detail-oriented, and plans to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology.

Our lab focuses on anxiety and related disorders. Our lab projects typically involve clinical trials testing the effects of brief computerized interventions for anxiety risk factors. However, graduate student-led projects focus on a variety of areas, ranging from posttraumatic stress disorder, sleep disturbance, intolerance of uncertainty, traumatic brain injury, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, substance use disorders, and more.

As a research assistant, duties include day-to-day execution of lab research projects: conducting diagnostic interviews both in person and over the phone to assess potential psychopathology and eligibility, conducting neurophysiology assessments (EEG), scheduling and recruiting participants, managing databases in Excel and SPSS, building surveys using the University’s online platform, running participants (including clinical populations), and various administrative duties. Additionally, duties include assisting in managing the clinic: screening potential clients, scheduling diagnostic interviews with graduate students, and maintaining accurate records of clients' treatment. The research assistant will also assist in overseeing undergraduate students working in the lab.

Opportunities for mentorship in professional development in clinical psychology, applying to graduate school, as well as pursuing independent research projects (e.g., presenting posters at local or national conferences) or manuscript co-authorship are available. 


Requirements including a bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field, GPA of at least 3.5, at least one year of experience working in a research lab, and a desire to go to graduate school for clinical psychology.
