Get Ready for Registration with IU Peer Coaches
When you meet with your advisor to discuss your plans for
next semester, it is important to also share your longer term goals. Sometimes
what you want to do in a later year, such as study abroad or an internship, can
influence your decisions for next term. Attend the following workshop with the
IU Peer Coaches to learn how to use iGPS to begin a 4-year plan to share your
goals with your advisor.

Law Day is
coming Friday, October 4, featuring students and representatives from 95 law
schools and a panel discussion of law school deans! Law Day is
the most important event of the year for prelaw students, especially those
participating in the upcoming applications cycle.
What is Law
Day?
If you are seriously considering law school, you won’t find
a better opportunity to speak with representatives and learn about the
admissions process from those who know it best: students and admissions
representatives from law schools across the land. Law Day
features one of the largest law fairs in the country, with an incredible 110+
schools attending! Don’t just wait and hope for law school admission and
scholarship offers; get the information you need to know before you apply!

free and open to the public. Freshmen through alumni interested in law school

is it? A panel of law school admissions deans from several leading
law schools, including IU-Maurer, will take questions on how to distinguish
yourself from other law school applicants. Attendees will learn what really
matters and, just as important, what doesn’t work. This may be the most
valuable admissions presentation you will have the chance to see. Come with
questions; leave with a huge edge!

is it? Admissions representatives and students from over 110+ law
schools providing materials, information, souvenirs – even fee waivers. Come

programs, admissions requirements, financial aid and more. Participation saves lots
of time otherwise spent contacting law schools, scheduling appointments and
researching admissions criteria.

Course Description:
Do animals think the same way humans do? Do they have consciousness? Memory? Are they moral? Do they have language? This course is an introduction to the study of animal cognition. The first part of the course will review historical, theoretical, and philosophical perspectives on these questions. With this background on the issues, we will explore debates about specific aspects of cognition that have been studied scientifically, including whether--and if so, how--animals reason about problems they are faced with, whether they can be said to have memory and concepts, whether they use can use tools, whether they communicate and if so, can it be called a "language", whether they have consciousness, behave altruistically, and have morals.

Program
The Global Friendship
Program is an initiative aiming to encourage cross cultural friendships between
domestic and international students while offering both groups an opportunity
to get to know IU and establish a sense community here through a diverse support
network. Students will be placed in cohorts that will participate in monthly
large socials and biweekly smaller events with their group. Possible activities
include university sporting events, shows at the auditorium and at the IU
cinema, and other opportunities like hiking in Brown County and bowling with
friends in the IMU. Students will be supported in working towards their Hoosier
Experience Certificate, and by the end of the program will have made memories
and formed connections that will last well past their first year. Here is the application

Project (BPP)'s science and psychology-themed show, The Rap Guide to
Consciousness!

“Peer reviewed rapper” Baba Brinkman takes a deep dive into the
neuroscience of human experience, from sensations to hallucinations.
“Mind-blowingly, awe-inspiringly good” (Broadway Baby). Baba’s brain consists
of tens of billions of neurons, none of which has any idea that he exists. And
yet, somehow, those cells come together to produce a steady stream of ill
rhymes, laughs, and revelations about the mind we live in.
BPP would like to offer a limited amount of complimentary tickets (available on a first-come, first-served basis) to PBS students who would like to attend any of the following performances:
