Program Details: Student participants will conduct applied mathematics research for 8 weeks (June 12 – August 4) at IUPUI with faculty mentors.

 Participants in the program will receive:
  • $4000 stipend
  • $400 for travel expenses
  • Room and board (apartment housing and meal allowances)
 Projects:
  • Modeling cancer cell transport through the vascular system (Jared Barber, Ph.D. & Luoding Zhu, Ph.D.)
  • Modeling the influence of drugs on the brain (Alexey Kuznetsov, Ph.D.)
  • Modeling blood flow responses to major arterial occlusion (Julia Arciero, Ph.D. & Jared Barber, Ph.D.)
  • Building a neural network from semiconductor memristors (Yogesh Joglekar, Ph.D.)
  • Life & death in a cell: investigating quasi-equilibrium to high non-equilibrium transitions (Yogesh Joglekar, Ph.D.)
This program is supported by the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) in the Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) and the Division of Biological Infrastructure (DBI) in the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) at the National Science Foundation (NSF)
