Health Professions and Prelaw Center (HPPLC) Meetings
Are you interested in even the possibility of attending law
school or medical school in the future? If so, these meetings should be
considered mandatory!
www.hpplc.indiana.edu
P.S. You can join the HPPLC email list for your area of interest to receive notices of events like this. Go to http://hpplc.indiana.edu, click on “Email Lists” and follow the prompts.
PREMED ORIENTATION with Dr. Rachel Tolen, HPPLC
Assistant Director and Premed Advisor: Tuesday, August 28, 6:00 to 7:30
pm. Whittenberger Auditorium, Indiana Memorial Union. (If you need
to come late, or leave early, no problem.)
PRELAW ORIENTATION with Dean Greg Canada, Dean of
Admission IUB Law School (!): Wednesday, August 29, 6:00 to 7:30
pm. Law School Moot Court Room 123 (corner of 3rd and
Indiana). (If you need to come late, or leave early, no problem.)
Why: Admission
to law and medical schools remains extremely competitive. Early
preparation can make all the difference, and can make the process much less
stressful later on. Learn what really matters, what doesn't, and what you
can do now to enhance your credentials that may be very difficult or impossible
to do later.
The Health Professions and
Prelaw Center (HPPLC) is an office in Maxwell Hall devoted to helping you
achieve your professional dreams. These meetings will get you off to a
great start. These are unique opportunities that students at smaller
colleges simply do not have. Please take advantage of it -- you will be
glad you did!
We expect a large crowd at
both events! Come with questions, or just sit and listen.
Questions? Want more
information? Please do not reply to this email, but instead contact HPPLC
at hpplc@indiana.edu. We hope to
see you there!
Thank you!!

Undergraduate Paid Internship Opportunity
The Student Academic Center is hiring several students to be
Teaching Interns, working in the PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session) Program.
Specifically, next fall and spring we will be running PASS in all sections of
MATH-D116 and some sections of MATH-M118 (but students from any section of M118

PASS, as some of you know, is a peer-led team learning
tutoring program in which enrolled students teach each other finite with the
assistance of the PASS tutor. By permitting the students to do some of the
teaching, the PASS program encourages higher order thinking and mastery of
difficult concepts. The PASS tutor attends the finite class with the students,
and organizes study sessions each week in the evenings.
This Teaching Internship is paid ($14 per hour) and will
take seven hours per week in the fall. Applicants must have taken finite (M118)
from IUB and earned a grade of B or better in the course. Applicants must have
a 3.00 cumulative gpa or better. Applicants must be sophomore standing or
higher. All majors from any school accepted.
Interested students will find the application here: https://sac.indiana.edu/student-employment/index.html
. Questions may be directed to akoke@iu.edu.
