RA Positions Available in Implementation Science at Penn
Two Clinical Research Coordinator A Positions at the University
of Pennsylvania Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research
Two Clinical Research Coordinator
(CRC) A positions are available at the University of Pennsylvania to work on
multiple NIH funded projects with Drs. Rinad Beidas, David Mandell, and Kevin
Volpp. The primary focus of research will be implementation science, behavioral
economics, fidelity measurement, and participatory design, all in service to
improve the delivery of evidence-based practices in community mental health
settings.
They will coordinate and support
the development of study materials, recruit and consent participants, collect
and enter quantitative and qualitative data, create and maintain databases,
co-manage seven undergraduate employees, and prepare and submit IRB documents.
This position will also assist with maintaining and nurturing positive working
relationships with community partners and study participants as well as prepare
scholarly presentations and publications.
The ideal candidate will have a
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related health field with 1-2 years’
experience. Previous experience working in community mental health centers,
interacting with children and families, and/or experience in implementation
science are desired. Previous experience in a research environment and
proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office suite, NVivo,
databases (SPSS), and online survey software (REDCap) is also preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills are essential. Exquisite attention to detail;
the ability to manage multiple responsibilities including daily tasks and planning
for longer-term projects; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills,
particularly given the community partner aspect of this work; and the ability
to work both autonomously and within a team are all essential for this
position. Individual must be comfortable communicating with diverse audiences.
This full time position requires
at least a two-year commitment, anticipated start date will ideally be in

Lab Coordinator Position at Brown University
The Causality and Mind Lab at
Brown University (https://www.brown.edu/research/labs/causality-and-mind,
PI: David Sobel) is seeking a lab coordinator for NSF-funded projects on
children's belief revision, social learning, and exploration in both laboratory
and informal learning environments. This is a full-time, paid position in the
Department of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences at Brown
University.
The lab coordinator will be part
of several projects in the lab, including laboratory-based measures of
children's belief revision, scientific reasoning, and social learning, 3D
motion tracking of children’s responses to examine mechanisms of cognitive
control and social cognitive development, and onsite investigation of
parent-child interaction and exploration at in museum settings. In addition to
lab manager duties, opportunities exist for development of independent research
and publication. The position is for two years, with a third year possible,
contingent on funding.
The lab coordinator will work
with the PI, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers to engage in data
collection, coding, and data analysis. Other responsibilities will include
supervising and training undergraduate research assistants, coordinating coding
of large-scale data projects, maintaining IRB paperwork for research compliance,
coordinating testing schedules and logistics, and maintaining laboratory
website.
Required qualifications include
-B.A. or B.S. in Psychology,
Cognitive Science or a field related to cognitive development
-Experience working with
preschool- or elementary-school aged children in a laboratory setting
-Proficiency in interacting with
children, families, and the general public
-Ability to manage time and
goals on multiple projects.
-Ability to use or learn
essential software for research, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe
Creative Cloud, SPSS, and Qualtrics
-Experience with Matlab and
behavioral video coding is preferred.

Post-Bacc Research Opportunity in Urbana-Champaign
COORDINATOR
OF RESEARCH PROGRAMS IN BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT

OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN
A full-time
(40 hours per week) academic hourly position in clinical psychology is
available at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, beginning
August/September, 2017. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a top-ranked research
psychology program, and this position would be a good fit for a student
considering doctoral studies in clinical psychology and/or a research degree in
psychology or a related discipline. The position would include involvement with an
interdisciplinary program of research exploring alcohol and substance use, with
a particular focus on basic social factors that drive alcohol consumption.
Current projects examine
effects of alcohol in heavy social drinkers, employing both laboratory-based
group drinking procedures as well as ambulatory transdermal assessment of
alcohol consumption. The
broader aims of this program of work are to examine how alcohol impacts social
interactions and how alcohol’s social rewards might contribute to heavy

The
Coordinator of Research Programs will be trained in research in clinical
psychology and will gain experience in study implementation, including
participant interaction; data management; supervision of undergraduate research
assistants; general research administration; and possibly assistance with the
preparation of grants and manuscripts. Duties would include, but would
not be limited to, the management of study data, the coding of participant
behaviors from photos and video, and the recruitment, screening, and running of
study participants.
We
are looking for applicants who have a passion for research, an eye towards
detail, effective and flexible time management skills, a willingness to attempt
challenging tasks, and strong interpersonal skills. The
Coordinator of Research Programs would become trained, certified, and reliable
in the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) through involvement in the lab.
Some weekend and/or evening
hours would be required.
A
bachelor’s degree at the time of employment is preferred, but well qualified
applicants who do not have a BA/BS will be considered. Salary will be

Research Assistant Position at The Maryland Psychiatric Research Center
The Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, outside of Baltimore Maryland, is looking for a
talented research assistant. We would prefer candidates
who have prior experience working with people with schizophrenia and/or
experience with EEG, fMRI, cognitive testing. Candidates with a background in
basic human cognitive neuroscience are also encouraged to
