Intake Coordinator Position at The Child & Family Institute

The Child & Family Institute is seeking a full-time or part-time Intake Coordinator to assist with the referral/intake process for new clients and related admin responsibilities at CFI. The position is ideal for a post-baccalaureate candidate interested in applying to graduate school in the mental health field. Prior knowledge and experience with CBT is preferred. A minimum 2-year commitment is required, along with excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to help manage, learn from, and support a talented, multi-disciplinary behavioral health team of 20+ clinicians across our 6 Tri-State offices. Minimal travel required.

The position includes opportunities to work on-site and remotely, and opportunities to participate in our extensive evidence-based clinical training/supervision, case conference, monthly didactics on a variety of topics in the mental health field, co-lead CBT groups, and assist with clinical treatments (e.g., exposures) based on the candidate's interests, alongside Dr. Weissman, our renowned training team, and our fantastic 2nd-year Senior Intake Coordinator

NSF-funded Summer Institute in Traumatic Stress Research

Syracuse University 
SF-Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in Trauma Research 

This program brings together Veterans and non-veterans to pursue trauma research in a 6-weeks Summer program with mentored research development.  The program, a collaborative venture between Syracuse University, SUNY Oswego, and SUNY Upstate Medical University, is designed to improve access to research experiences for groups typically underrepresented in research, namely Veterans.  The faculty in this program bring a wealth of research, academic, and practical expertise in their respective fields.

PROGRAM INCLUDES

·         Guest speakers, training seminars, field trips, outreach opportunities
·         Enrichment sessions, including how to apply for graduate school, mastering the GRE, and how to apply for fellowships

Project Coordinator in Miami OH

The Research on Eating Disorders and Suicidality laboratory at Miami University is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to work on a Department of Defense-funded study.  This is a two-year limited term appointment and will require a commitment through the end of March 2021, contingent upon grant funding and performance. This position will be located in Oxford, Ohio but will require some reimbursable travel between Miami University and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, in Dayton, Ohio.  The project involves a series of studies examining suicidality in Service members and testing an intervention to reduce suicidal ideation.  Effort will be dedicated to conducting screening and research interviews for potential participants; assisting with participant recruitment and retention; entering and maintaining data in a database; assisting faculty with IRB submissions, modifications, renewals, and final reports; assisting faculty with basic training and monitoring of student research assistants; coordination of data collection with off-site collaborators; and assisting faculty with evaluating data and preparing reports.  The project coordinator will work under the direction of Dr. April Smith, faculty member in the Psychology Department and the Principal Investigator of the grant.  The Project Coordinator will conduct screening and research interviews for potential participant; assist with participant recruitment and retention; travel to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; enter and maintain data in a database; assist faculty with IRB submissions, modifications, renewals, and final reports; assist faculty with basic training and monitoring of student research assistants; coordinate data collection with off-site collaborators; assist faculty with evaluating data and preparing reports. 

Require:  Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field OR be a graduating senior who will earn his/her degree by the end of May 2019; experience with psychological or medical research; basic computer skills; be very detail-oriented; have excellent oral and written communication skills; have the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting on multiple tasks; and be comfortable with multidisciplinary teams, diverse populations, and military culture.  Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, admitted for residence as an applicant under the 1986 immigration amnesty law, refugee or asylee.

Desire:   Experience with Qualtrics and SPSS; experience with psychophysiological data collection.

Paid Summer Psychology Job

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is looking to recruit Counselors (typically undergraduate students) and Lead (typically graduate students) Counselors for our Summer Treatment Program (STP). The STP is an award winning, evidence-based program for children ages 7-12 with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) developed by William Pelham, Ph.D. and colleagues. The STP has been listed in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices. 

Counselors will receive extensive clinical training and approximately 250 hours of face-to-face clinical experience working with children with ADHD and related behavioral, social, and academic difficulties. Counselors are assigned to groups of 10-15 children, with 5-6 counselors per group. Counselors implement behavior modification procedures during sports, social skills training, art, and academic activities. Counselors will provide feedback to children and parents and record behavioral data for children in their groups. They also receive daily performance feedback from experienced staff members who provide live supervision.

Counselors must be available to work from May 23, 2019 through July 31, 2019. The  beginning of employment will include a multi-day training session. Hired counselors will be responsible for reading the STP manual and memorizing some of the contents prior to beginning employment. Counselor hours of employment are typically from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm, Thursdays from 7:45 am to 6:30 pm, and Fridays from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. All counselors are paid an hourly wage with overtime benefits.

Undergraduate and graduate level students interested in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, Education, Social Work, Psychiatry, or Pediatrics are encouraged to apply. Experience gained at the STP may also be beneficial in preparation for careers in education, mental health, physical education, recreational therapy, behavior analysis, social work, and counseling and can serve as an opportunity to obtain a recommendation for work or graduate school. Positions are competitive and offers will be made until positions are filled. Summer Anatomy Research Opportunity for Undergraduates - application deadline Mar 1

The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the UNT Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth is excited to announce the 2019 Summer Opportunities in Anatomy Research (SOAR) Program for undergraduate students.

This is a 10-week internship (stipend and housing included) for undergraduates interested in the anatomical sciences. Students will work on-on-one with faculty mentors to conduct comparative/functional morphology research, present their projects at a national conference, participate in anatomy workshops, and provide leadership for summer outreach programs. The goal of the SOAR program is to increase undergraduate interest in graduate training programs and careers in the anatomical sciences. The 2019 SOAR program is supported by the American Association of Anatomists Innovations Program.

Job Summary: 

The Suicidal Behavior and Psychopathology Laboratory at Auburn University is seeking a full­-time Project Coordinator to work on a Department of Defense­ funded study. The study is investigating a novel treatment of suicidality for Service members.

The Project Coordinator will work under the mentorship of Dr. Tracy Witte. This position will assist Dr. Witte with all aspects of running the research study, including obtaining IRB approval, managing and submitting relevant regulatory documents, collecting data and running participants (including the collection of ECG data), following up with participants, and scheduling participants.

**This is a limited term appointment and would require a commitment through the end of February 2021, contingent upon grant funding and performance.

This position will be located in Auburn, Alabama until July 1st, 2019. After that date, the position will be located on Joint Base Lewis­McChord, which is near Tacoma, WA.

This position will involve some reimbursable travel between Auburn, AL; Tacoma, WA; and Oxford, OH (two to three trips per year).**

Salary Range: $35,000-$58,400
