VOLUNTEER
JOB DESCRIPTION
WORKING HOURS: Minimum of two
consistent two-hour shifts per week for
a commitment of 4/week. Shifts available Monday through
Friday from 3-6 p.m.
VACATION/SICK DAYS: 2 per semester
HOLIDAYS: Holidays and Break Days off
BREAKS: 15-minute break for every 4 hours worked
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTION:
Volunteers will be providing
our members with a positive role
model and assisting to serving our mission
“to enable all young people, especially
those who need us most, to reach
their full potential as productive caring
and responsible citizens.” Volunteers will
be mentoring youth ages 6-12 years old,
help run the programs, projects, games
and activities. Their focus will be on
providing fun, educational, and safe
environment for club youth. Volunteers are
expected to treat the position as they would
a job.
If any volunteer has experience
or training to lead special programs,
the Club is always interested in bringing
new and interesting programming to our
students. Examples of past volunteer-ran
programming: Martial Arts, Knitting, Juggling,
Drama and Jump Rope Club. The sky's the limit!
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Exhibits professionalism.
2. Patience/understanding nature.
3. Ability to be flexible in fast changing environment.
4. Demonstrates strong communication skills.
5. Must be able to demonstrate
ability to work with people from diverse
racial/cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds.
