When: Friday, September 24th, 2009 4:00-5:00PM
Where: Hutton Honors College Great Room
If you are studying mathematics or the biological or physical sciences, we invite you to an information meeting on the Churchill Scholarship with Peter Patrikis, executive director of the Winston Churchill Foundation, on Friday, Sept. 25, 4-5 p.m., in the Great Room of the Hutton Honors College, 811 E. Seventh (northwest corner of Seventh and Woodlawn). He is eager to meet with IU students and to respond to your questions.
The Winston Churchill Scholarship, an important and prestigious award, supports one year of graduate study leading to a master's degree or a certificate in mathematics, the sciences, or engineering at Churchill College at Cambridge University in England. For more details on the scholarship, including the eligibility criteria and a list of the degrees and fields of study available, see:
http://www.winstonchurchillfoundation.org
The Churchill Scholarship requires university nomination and endorsement. Although the IU nominating committee has chosen the nominees for this year's competition, sophomores, juniors, as well as seniors who might take a break in anticipation of starting graduate school in fall 2011, will find this meeting helpful preparation. For information on the IU nomination process, go to http://www.indiana.edu/~iubhonor/hds/churchill.php. For additional information about the visit of Peter Patrikis or the Churchill Scholarship, please contact Edda Callahan in the International Affairs office at 812-855-5021, egcallah@indiana.edu, or contact Trevor Brown, chair of the IU nominating committee at brownt@indiana.edu.
