The Developmental Personality Neuroscience Lab
at Penn State University directed by Michael Hallquist seeks a full-time
research assistant to start in August or September of 2017. The position will
focus on implementing NIMH- and PSU-funded studies of personality dysfunction,
emotion dysregulation, and impulsivity in teens and young adults. Research in
the lab synthesizes functional neuroimaging, computational modeling, and
network analyses to characterize the development of neurobehavioral systems
underlying self-regulation and interpersonal functioning. The successful
candidate will have ample opportunity to contribute to all aspects of research,
including designing/programming experiments, participant recruitment, clinical
interviewing, data management, supervising undergraduate students, and analysis
of behavioral and neuroimaging data.
Skills and qualifications:
Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, cognitive science, computer science, math, or related field preferred. Prior research or professional experience with adolescents and/or young adults, especially in mental health settings, is preferred. Scientific programming (in R, MATLAB, or Python) will be an important aspect of the position; thus, prior programming experience is desirable.

This is a fixed term position funded for one year from date of hire with a strong possibility of refunding.
