Dr. Dan Hyde is looking to hire someone to oversee ongoing
research in the Brain and Cognitive Development Lab housed within the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Research in the lab
investigates the neural basis of quantitative, spatial, and social cognition in
infants, young children, and adults. Duties will include data collection
using brain (EEG/ERP, fNIRS) and behavioral measures, undergraduate staff
supervision/organization, as well as some community relations and recruitment
work.
Applicants should hold bachelor’s degree in psychology,
neuroscience, or related field, have experience working in a professional
setting with parents and children, be fluent with both Windows and Mac
operating systems, as well as have relevant research experience in cognition,
development, and/or neuroscience. Although not necessary, the ideal
applicant will also have some experience with brain imaging/measures, basic
computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python), and a solid understanding
of statistics.
This is a one-year position with the possibility of a
multiple-year renewal pending performance and funding. This is an
hourly position that will require 35-40 hours of work per week. Start
date is negotiable between April and July 2017, but there is a strong
preference for earlier start date if possible. Pay is also negotiable but
