An excellent opportunity to gain research-related experience on an NIH-sponsored grant! The multidisciplinary research team at the Center for Health and Behavior at Syracuse University is investigating the efficacy of brief health promotion interventions for patients attending a publicly-funded STD clinic. This project involves a collaboration between the Monroe County Health Department, the University of Rochester, and Syracuse University. This opportunity is best suited to an undergraduate psychology major who graduated in May 2010, and who seeks research experience before applying to graduate school. The position is described below.
* Research Assistant needed for innovative NIH-funded health improvement project. Duties include screening, recruiting, and conducting assessments with STD clinic patients, contacting participants for follow-up surveys, assisting with study-related materials, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a B.A. or B.S. in psychology, public health, or related field; good interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations; and strong computer skills.
